Augmented reality contact lenses. InWith unveiled the world's first electronic contact lenses at CES2022. They are soft like regular lenses, but have embedded electronics that can perform a variety of functions. The manufacturers' vision is that the lenses connect to a smartphone or other device and display messages and information in real time. For example, driving a car you will see information from navigation, such as a turn or speed limit, being in a store will display information about a particular product, etc. This is how the augmented reality system is built.
The design of wearable electronic devices must provide comfort of use. The modern systems are built based on crystalline semiconductors (usually silicon and germanium). They are very rigid and do not yield to stretching or bending. Resistors and capacitors are not a problem but microcontrollers and processors are. Moreover, the available surface area is very limited, so it is even more difficult to place them on the most sensitive part of the human body, i.e. the eye. What is more, the available space is severely limited and damp. InWidth has integrated electronic components on the hydrogel substrate used for lens construction. In doing so, they confirmed that integration of electronics into lenses is possible. What they did not show was any technique to display something, and this is another step in the development of this type of device. The manufacturer has also tried to test the safety of use, which is expected to be confirmed by the US Food and Drug Administration later this year. If they actually manage to master the construction of displays on such a material, we are in for another revolution in the electronics market.
Automatic start of live monitoring when connecting to Hikvision DVR via Internet browser. When connected to Hikvision DVR via web browser, automatic live preview playback is disabled by default. The preview can be activated for all cameras each time from the main window and the type of stream played can be specified. In the local configuration, after logging in to the DVR, it is possible to enable automatic live playback. It is also possible to specify the type of stream from which the cameras are to be displayed during automatic playback (main or auxiliary stream). This configuration applies to the specific browser running on the computer. The settings can be changed after logging in to the DVR in the Configuration -> Local tab.

DVB-T2 digital terrestrial television – 700 MHz band filtering. The 5G technology is the nearest future of the telecommunications market. However, for this to happen, appropriate infrastructure and allocation of RF bands is necessary. In most EU countries, work is underway to organize the radio spectrum and make the planned bands available for telecommunications services. To this end, the EU countries will have to free up the 700 MHz band and reorganize the DVB-T terrestrial multiplexes (frequency refarming) for the needs of mobile operators (5G services), as well as in connection with the transition to DVB-T2/HEVC broadcasting standard. Terrestrial TV systems commissioned in previous years are completely immune to interference from LTE transmitters. The highest-frequency TV channels with numbers 49 and 50 are most prone to interference. The image on the TV screen may freeze, colored stripes and squares (picture frameup) may appear. To exclude the interference of LTE transmitters on DVB-T/T2 reception, special internal and external filters were developed and patented.

Note that all users of terrestrial TV are at risk, also those who receive programs on much lower channels than those mentioned above. Strong signal from LTE transmitters may overdrive the amplifiers placed in the antennas, effectively making it impossible to receive television. Filters eliminating unwanted signals should be used just behind the antenna and before the amplifier, if any.
Incorrect cleaver height as a reason for bad optical fiber cleft. Proper preparation of the ends of optical fibers is the basis for successful fiber splicing. Even the best and most expensive splicer will not be able to properly connect dirty or improperly cut fibers. For this reason, care for the cleanliness of fiber optic tools is extremely important. A good, clean and well-adjusted fiber optic cleaver guarantees correct and precise cleaving of fibers.
Before proceeding with the adjustment of the cleaver height, it is good to find out whether the blade in the tool is set too high or too low. Of course, it may happen that the installer is not able to determine that during the initial assessment. A good practice then is to deliberately lower or raise the blade to the extreme positions. After reaching one of the extreme positions, gradually lower/raise the blade to set the optimal position. The effect of each change in height should be checked on the splicer display. It is important to do that for two fibers. It may also happen that the fiber looks good on one side and on the other not. It is also important to tighten all stabilizing screws after changing the height.

The fiber end face is jagged. A characteristic feature of fibers cleft with a blade set too high is damage to the fiber core (in the bright area).

The fiber is not cleft throughout the entire cross-section (visible a "clove"). The shape and size of the "clove" may of course vary.

Protect 2018 mobile DVR M80218 is designed to be mounted inside the cab of a vehicle, e.g. under the seat, in a glove compartment etc. The power cables have to be connected to the battery and ignition switch (similar to radio), so that the device automatically begins video and audio recording simultaneously with turning on the ignition. The power circuit is protected by 5 A fuse which protects against excessive current drawing and burning of the wiring in the event of a fault. By default, the recorder runs until the power supply is turned off with the ignition key, unless the delayed turn off function (running for a specified time after switching off) or a schedule function is active.
